Academic Catalog 2016-2017
Course Delivery System
LifeSpring courses are designed to be flexible so that students can balance educational goals with family, ministry, and work responsibilities.
LifeSpring students travel through the course material online with a group of up to 12 peers across the United States and Canada and an instructor. Each week provides activities that allow you to grow and interact with one another as you apply the material. Online discussion forums allow you to build relationships as you post comments to classmates. (There are no scheduled “discussion” times. You have the freedom to login and post at your convenience provided the posts are submitted prior to set due dates.)
Students should plan on logging in a minimum of 3 times each week. However, when you login is completely up to you. It is recommended that students plan to login at least once at the beginning of each week and a few times during the latter part of the week.
LifeSpring courses are 10 weeks long. Students should dedicate an average of 12-16 hours per week per course.
Computer and Internet Requirements
Because of the lecture component in each course, students will need a computer capable of playing Adobe Flash Video and a high speed internet connection with a download speed of at least 1 Mbps.
You can test your internet connection by visiting http://www.speedtest.net. Click the "Begin Test" button and when the test completes check that the listed download speed is at least 1 Mbps.
Written assignments must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). Most word processing applications are capable of saving in this format. Students who don't already have an application that can save in Microsoft Word format can download LibreOffice for free at https://www.libreoffice.org/.
